Our Team

Leland Swartzendruber, President

With over 50 years of total experience in the landscaping industry, Lee opened Lee’s Landscaping Inc. 45 years ago and later Lee’s Premium Greens in 1989 thus building two successful businesses from the ground up. Lee’s Premium Greens is a separate division of Lee’s Landscaping Inc. supplying fully licensed lawn treatment services. The two businesses work side by side in helping to keep customers lawns and landscapes looking their best. Although Lee has taken a step back from managing both companies, he still can be found most days talking to the crew members about day-to-day business and tasks that need to be completed.

Lee has a degree in Landscape and Nursery Management from Michigan State University and is also a Certified Landscape Professional with the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association.

Troy Gunden, Vice President/Manager

Troy began working alongside Lee in 1980. While gaining on the job experience, he developed his ability in heavy hardscape installation and worked his way up to his current position as Manager and part owner of the company. Troy can be found out in the field meeting with customers for estimates, as well as installing major landscape projects.

Troy is a Certified Landscape Professional with the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association.

Gerald Dubs, Nursery Manager

Gerald “Jerry” joined Lee’s Landscaping in 1986. He has over 45 years in the Landscape and Nursery industry. He runs the day-to-day operations of the nursery as well as managing 25 employees. Over the length of his career, Jerry has gained a depth of knowledge difficult to surpass. When he is not at the nursery, he can be found out on the job installing landscapes.

 Celine Richards, Landscape Designer

Celine has been with Lee’s Landscaping since 1988 working as a landscape designer. She has a degree from Michigan State University in Landscape and Nursery Management and completed studies at Lansing Community College in Landscape Architecture Technology. She has been working in the industry for over 35 years. Celine is a certified Landscape Professional with the Michigan Landscape and Nursery Association. Celine said, “I love my job as a landscape designer. My goal is to create a landscape that is both unique and functional for each customer.”

Jeff Dubs, Office Manager and Accounting

Jeff has been with Lee’s Landscaping for 25 years. Jeff oversees the day-to-day office operations as well as invoicing and accounts payable/receivable. Knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the business, when not in the office Jeff can be found working out in the nursery or installing landscapes for customers.

Peggy McCrimmon, Store Manager

Peggy has been with Lee’s Landscaping since 2001. Peggy started as a part time store employee and worked her way up to store manager. You will find Peggy in the store daily taking messages from customers and answering their questions. She oversees the ordering of store materials and nursery stock. She also can be found tending plants and helping customers with product selections.

Jeremy Dubs, Irrigation Manager

Jeremy has been with Lee’s Landscaping since 1994. He has been the Irrigation Manager since 2002. Jeremy oversees the irrigation division of Lee’s Landscaping Inc. He oversees the management and installation of all irrigation systems for Lee’s Landscaping including the opening, winterizing and maintenance for both customers and the nursery. In addition, Jeremy installs and supports the landscape lighting features for our landscape jobs.
